Waiver & Participation Requirement

Participation in any Schrodi’s Lab Birthday Experience or program is subject to the following requirements.

By registering for or allowing a child to participate in a Schrodi’s Lab event, the parent or legal guardian agrees to the terms below.

1. Parent/Guardian Responsibility

A parent or legal guardian must remain present during the entirety of the event unless otherwise explicitly stated in writing by Schrodi’s Lab.

Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising their child’s behavior and ensuring safe participation in all activities.

Schrodi’s Lab staff are instructors and facilitators, not medical providers or childcare supervisors.

2. Inherent Risks of Participation

Schrodi’s Lab programs involve interactive, hands-on science activities that may include, but are not limited to:

  • Mixing common household or educational materials

  • Use of liquids, powders, and simple chemical reactions

  • Balloons and gas-forming demonstrations

  • Craft materials and basic laboratory tools

  • Movement within the event space

Participation involves inherent risks, including, but not limited to:

  • Minor spills or slips

  • Contact with materials

  • Allergic or sensory reactions

  • Minor cuts or scrapes

  • Unexpected reactions during experiments

By allowing participation, the parent/guardian acknowledges and voluntarily assumes these risks.

3. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the parent/guardian releases and holds harmless Schrodi’s Lab, its owner(s), instructors, employees, contractors, and affiliates from any claims, demands, liabilities, damages, or causes of action arising out of or related to participation in the event, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

This release includes claims related to personal injury, property damage, or other loss associated with participation.

4. Emergency Responsibility

Parents/guardians remain responsible for their child’s medical care and for contacting emergency services if necessary.

Schrodi’s Lab staff may assist in contacting emergency services, but are not responsible for initiating or providing medical treatment.

5. Behavior & Safety Expectations

To maintain a safe and positive environment:

  • Children must follow the instructor's safety guidelines.

  • Unsafe, aggressive, or disruptive behavior may result in removal from activities.

  • No refunds will be provided for removal due to unsafe behavior.

6. Photo & Media Use

Photographs or videos may be taken during events.

Media will only be used for promotional or educational purposes if a parent/guardian has provided explicit consent through the signed waiver.

7. Waiver Requirement

A completed and signed parent/guardian waiver is required for each participating child prior to engaging in any activity.

Participation will not be permitted without a signed waiver.

8. Acceptance of Terms

By signing the digital or printed waiver form, the parent/guardian confirms:

  • They are the legal parent or guardian of the child listed

  • They have read and understood these participation requirements

  • They voluntarily agree to these terms
